Job Description
Following a recent restructure, the Company is looking for a Supply Chain Manager with the ability to handle processes involved in supply chain and liaise with a variety of parties including suppliers of raw materials, components, manufacturers etc.
The overall objective of this role is to co-ordinate all procurement/purchasing functions to ensure increased levels of customer service.
The ideal candidate will be a self motivated; pro-active individual who is able to communicate at all levels through verbal and written communication together with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and our sister sites across the globe.
You will be required to have experience and knowledge of manufacturing industry i.e. stock control, ordering, MRP systems, JIT etc. as well as knowledge of importing and exporting goods worldwide.
You will be computer literate and understand computerised ordering and stock control. Ideally qualified to CIPS standard or equivalent, have proven experience in reducing supplier costs and be part of a culture of change in leading a forward thinking approach to procurement, stock holdings, etc.
The role will require you to:
? Work closely with preferred suppliers to develop a mutually beneficial partnership and monitor their performance specifically in relation to quality standards.
? Source new materials and packaging as required from either new or existing suppliers.
? Negotiate and manage agreements with suppliers
? Collaborate in the implementation of best practice in the UK and within Europe
? Work with the manufacturing locations to leverage volume and supply advantages
? Maintain the knowledge and awareness of specific markets and products for which they operate in
? Demonstrate leadership and first class management skills
? Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with the Company’s European Purchasing Manager
? Successfully combine the procurement of both components and finished product to minimise OOS situations
? Work in conjunction with operational aspects of the business on machine sourcing, capital projects etc.
? Have a high degree of flexibility and a willingness to participate fully on various Company projects
? Mentor other members of the department in procurement concepts and skills
? Develop annual plans and co-ordinate closely with sales on new product procurement activities, own initiatives etc.
? Provide input into marketing and promotional plans as required
? Solve problems and analyse the root causes of issues/opportunities and act on found results
